The plate and frame filter press is a kind of pressure filtration and intermittent operation filtering equipment. It consists of a frame consisting of a pressing part, a thrust plate, a pressing plate, and a crossbeam. The filter plates and filter frames with filtrate passages are arranged in parallel and alternately. A filter cloth is sandwiched between each set of filter plates and filter frames. The filter plates and filter frames are pressed by the pressing end to form a filter press chamber between the filter plates.

The plate and frame filter press can be used for suspensions with high compressibility or nearly incompressible filter residues. The solid particle concentration of the suitable suspension is generally less than 10%, and the operating pressure is generally 0.3-1.6 MPa, and special ones can reach 3 MPa or higher.
